Outreach initiates from a burden of the heart or a calling to meet a need or needs in a local community. GSMI initially began to fulfill that need in Northern Virginia by holding city park events in collaboration with Hearts and Hammers, commercial vendors and local police departments.  In addition, GSMI held many annual ‘People’s Banquets’ which invited needy families to delight in a meal, enjoy entertainment, and pickup donated school supplies for their children.  This event was very popular and continued until the COVID19 years. Currently, GSMI arranges school supply drives, annual senior fellowship events, and an annual Christmas toy and household item giveaway in coordination with the Marine Corps Toys for Tots. GSMI also networks with other churches and community organizations with food bank outlets for those in need. GSMI has helped others to create their own community outreach events and offers consultation to anyone that has a vision to reach their community.
